Arapahoe Basin
A-Basin was the first place I skied when I moved to Colorado. I knew it's legendary reputation from years earlier, hearing people talk about it on ski lifts. A decade or so later, I get invited to shoot a summer wedding at the basin, and The Legend is just as beautiful without a thick layer of snow. The Black Mountain Lodge sits up high, nestled between some of the tallest peaks in the area. You feel like you're miles away from everything, even though it's just a chairlift ride back to the highway. And who doesn't love a chairlift ride to a party?
